AGM and carvings to Sell at Shows
We had a very lively
AGM that took far longer than normal due to a certain reluctance to
take on the vacant Chair and Secretary positions. This was
overcome by some strong arm tactics and we will not have to fold up the
club in February!!!!
We then had a short time to look at suggestions for carvings to sell at
shows. This is a new departure for us. Most
members do not want to0 sell their work and visitors to our stands at
shows are disappointed that they cannot take some of our wonderful work
home with them. Our idea was to produce some designs that
are quite quick and easy to execute that could be sold for up to
£5. Amazingly, most designs were for owls.
This is always a popular subject. We also had
a design for a human head / pencil holder. We will have to
see if this venture succeeds
