Found Wood Workshop lead by John Adamson
This year's
club project is
a found wood carving and this was the second workshop on the subject.
John Adamson talked in general about
the problems
of working with found wood: that the pictures you could find did not
match the wood you had, and that there was often nowhere that made a
reasonable base. He suggested some solutions that
had
worked for some of his many found wood projects.
The real fun started when we got down to looking at the work the
members had produced to date. It was inspiring in
its
breadth of subjects and the magnificent way the original shape of the
wood had been utilized. The most amazing was Ken
Speakman's howling monkey. We all congratulated
him on the
work
