Lancashire and Cheshire Woodcarvers
17th July  2006  Jack Richardson a Grinling Gibbons style carver

Jack by his own admissions cheats a bit in carving in a Grinling Gibbon style.     He gets the  Gibbon effects with modern tools and materials.   For example Grinling Gibbons did not have access to glass paper and had to use a bog plant that naturally contained grit taken in through it's roots from the bog.     Jack carved  the flowers, leaves and fruits  individually and glued together with a hot glue gun.   The overall effect was very like the original.
