I have always been interested in working in wood since school days.
After I retired in 2001, I joined a Lifelong Learning
class in Oldham, and later the Lancashire & Cheshire Woodcarvers
and the Spotland Woodcarving group.
I get my ideas from all different places, challenge myself with all
kinds of subjects, and all types of wood that I come across.
I find this more rewarding than using one type of wood as I enjoy
trying to match the wood to the subject I am carving and get the best
finish from the wood
