On his retirement from the Police, Colin was able to indulge his interest in all forms of woodwork .     He joined the British Woodcarvers Association and the Association of Woodturners of Geat Britain on their formation, and is a founder member of the West Pennine Woodturners.      He has been a member of the Lancashire and Cheshire Woodcarvers for some years

His life long interest in Archery  and wood has led him to make long bows, arrows,, and recurve bows, as well as model carts and general wood turning..

Colins's main interest now is making wooden toys and puzzles using fretwork, woodturning and carving as elements, although his carving skills are miminal.    When asked what he does with his time, Colin replies "I fiddle with bits of wood and thoroughly enjoy myself"
