As a farmer's daughter from Wales I have always loved wood and the idea  of Rustic carving and whittling.

30 years ago I inherited a very large tool box full of carpentry tools and kept them in the corner of the living room – one day intending to use them.
10 years ago I went to a night school class in Radcliffe, a fellow
carver introduced me to the Lancashire and Cheshire Woodcarvers in 2001.    From there I joined Vic Bentley's carving class in Fitton Hill.  There I learnt all that was necessary to complete a basic relief and a carving  in the round.
The club has been a fountain of information and guidance to me with the library, talks and fellow members always willing to help.
As Treasurer of the club I quickly got to know everyone, and other members may say I do more talking than carving – the club is very welcoming and sociable to everyone. I also enjoy searching the Internet and You Tube for other woodcarving sites and projects.
